The undergraduate concentrations in Medieval Studies, known as the Interdisciplinary Major and Minor and, are global in scope. They require coursework in three broad regions: the medieval cultures of East and South Asia, the Mediterranean region and Africa, and Europe, with plenty of space for electives tailored toward an individual plan of study for each student, with advanced courses for Majors focused on a particular area or theme. In addition to those already approved, many other courses can also count toward introductory and advanced credit hours with the approval of the Program Director.
Students currently minoring in Medieval Studies are majoring in disciplines ranging from Computer Science and Engineering to Creative Writing and History. Those who choose to major often decide to pursue graduate studies in a related field.
