This endowed annual lecture series was inaugurated in 2024, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor. It features distinguished invited scholars whose work reflects our program's unique commitment to compassing the medieval globe, exemplifying new trends in medieval studies and exploring the ways in which the complex legacy of the medieval past continues to inform and shape our own world.

Our speaker in 2026 will be Professor Keidrick Roy, Assistant Professor of Government at Dartmouth College and the prize-winning author of  American Dark Age: Racial Feudalism and the Rise of Black Liberalism (Princeton, 2024), a study of how medieval legacies of feudalism haunt liberal democracy in the United States.  His lecture, followed by a reception, will be on Thursday, September 10th at 5:00 in the Levis Faculty Center. More details are forthcoming soon.
