The journal French Historical Studies has released a curated issue of past articles influenced by the work and legacy of Marc Bloch (1886-1944): the great historian of medieval Europe and a leader of the French Resistance who was arrested in Lyon by the Gestapo on 8 March 1944, tortured, and executed on 16 June. This past June, he and his wife Simonne Vidal were inducted into the Panthéon. One of these five exemplary articles, chosen by historian Daniel Lord Smail (Harvard), was authored by Carol Symes. The issue is freely available online.
